Claire turned two months on March 23rd and continues to make gains (7 lbs 9 oz!) and grow cuter each day.
She is becoming very talkative, makings sounds (we call it "speaking whale"), waiting for Mommy and Daddy to respond, and then talking back. The books say that this back and forth talk is developing conversation skills. If so, we got a talker on our hands. Of course, she also enjoys talking to the light over her changing table so we probably shouldn't take things too seriously yet.
Speaking of which, the changing table is still her favorite place to be, so much so that she is getting "flat head syndrome" from being on her back all the time. What can we say, the girl HATES tummy time - and Mommy hates anything that makes Claire scream like a banshee. Apparently, this whole flat head thing isn't that big a deal and we just need to switch the direction she is placed on her changing table and crib to remedy it. Rest assured, she won't be deformed.
Unfortunately, turning two months old comes with a downside. At our check up, Claire got her first series of vaccinations. They were awful! She was very brave and recovered quickly, but there were lots of tears. Some from Claire, and some from Mom. Three shots in all....
two on this leg...
...and one on this leg.
We have started a nighttime ritual to help Claire go to bed at the same time every night. We take a bath, change into our pajamas, read a book, and have a little snack. So far, it's working pretty well, especially the bath part. She has so much fun splashing away and looking at the water.
Her hand (foot?)/eye coordination has really progressed. She likes to put her feet in the stream of water. It's pretty impressive.
