Claire Turns One Month

Hard to believe, but the little peanut turned one month old today!  Tomorrow is our one month well checkup and we can't wait to find out how much she weighs.  Last Tuesday it was 6 lbs 4 oz, fingers crossed that she will weigh in this time at 6.9 or more!!!  She does seem to be getting chubbier cheeks, don't you think?

One thing we have learned is that when Claire sleeps, the rest of us sleep too.

Bye Bye Ike (but only for a little while)

In an effort to quell our fears that Ike, our 12 pound cat, would inadvertently smother Claire, our 5 pound baby, while looking for some warmth on a 40 below zero degree night, he took a sabbatical to Grandpa Harold's for an undetermined amount of time.  Initially, he was not happy, but now I think he's living the life!

Life Around Here

As we get settled, practicing the new routines of parenthood and attempting to get Miss Claire on a schedule (with the help of Gamma - thank you Mom!) we have had the opportunity to take lots of pictures of our new love.  Enjoy!

Right on Time

Our little wonder, Miss Claire Hannah Turner, came into the world at 10:48 on her due date of January 23, 2011.  Her mother's child, she is one who already knows how to stick to the schedule.  After a night of "are they or aren't they" contractions, a "beautiful" trip to town (ok, it was clear and pretty, but I wasn't exactly enjoying the scenery), and shameless begging for an epidural, Claire joined the Turner clan, greeted by mom, dad, grandmas, grandpas, uncles, aunts, and lots of patient cousins.

After a 2 day hospital stay, our new family of 3 returned home; exhausted, terrified, and elated.
